6 Months!!

On Saturday, Gus was 6 months old! Can this be true?


Growing: His 6 month appointment isn't for a few weeks, but if I was guessing, I would say he weighs around 20 lbs. He is wearing 6 and 9 month clothes (mostly 9). He is still wearing size 3 diapers.

Eating: his eating schedule really hasn't changed. He is eating food, usually once or twice a day. He eats bananas, applesauce, carrots, squash, and sweet potatoes. He has tried using a sippy cup, but isn't too interested yet. He also has tried mum mums and liked them.

Sleeping: He is still not sleeping through the night. He wakes up once or twice usually. On good nights, he sleeps from around 10:30 when we give him a dream feed until about 4. He takes several naps during the day, usually 3 or 4. Sometimes they are short, but yesterday one was 3 hours! He loves his blanket and likes it on his face. We walked in one day to find he had covered his head

Playing: Gus loves to sit and play with his toys. He can entertain himself sometimes for 30-45 minutes. He is really good with his hands and likes to turn his toys all around and look at them. He likes to play with his pacifier and chew on it, but then he will turn it around and put it in correctly. He is starting to like his bouncer. He also loves to read books. (just a couple though, then he is bored) His daddy can make his laugh more than anyone. He still loves bath time too.

Gus just seems to have more personality every day! Although at times this means he is screaming or mad at his toys, I know he is constantly learning.

Big news: Last Monday on our trip Gus started saying "MaMa"! He loves to say it over and over, he is so proud of himself. Of course, I love it. And now we are working on dada. This video was taken by my friend Randi on the first day he said MaMa


I have to Praise the Lord this morning for the rain He has given. As I write this, it is slowly raining outside and is supposed to continue until tomorrow. Rain is such a blessing in this drought!!!
