1) Gus is just everywhere these days. We got him a walker this weekend, and he is slowly figuring it out! He is very cautious. Here is a little of him walking:
2) This morning Gus was exploring in our bedroom, and this is where he ended up:

(By the way, this is our dogs' bed...)
3)He next went exploring in the bathroom:

4) Note the hair...

5) So I took the plunge and am trying Pinterest after all the comments last week!! I tried my first recipe for lunch yesterday: La Madeleine's Tomato Basil Soup.
It was so good!!! And very easy!! Here is the pan when we were done, and no we didn't eat quite all of it, but I wasn't paying attention and this was the best picture I could get:

6) The second recipe I tried yesterday was Peppermint Popcorn:
It was great too!!
First: I crushed candy canes in the food processor. I got red and green candy canes for more color:

Then I made popcorn. The recipe said to use two bags of microwave popcorn. I like real homemade popcorn made on the stove, so I made two batches which I think was too much :)

I then melted one package of white almond bark in the microwave. I put the candy canes over the popcorn first, then pour the bark over. It is hard to stir, so I would slide the spatula down the side and lift the popcorn so I didn't crush it all.
Then, I pour it out on wax paper on a cookie sheet to dry.

I am going to give it to some people coming over tonight, so I put it in cute bags:

7) I got this cute rug for our back door at Lowe's. I just love it!!

8) Another picture of the explorer.

9) We are celebrating Advent this year as a family!! Each night we are reading prayers and scriptures together before dinner. I am so glad Josh thought of doing this and is leading our family through it. I hope we do this every year.
10) The sermon at church Sunday also was about the first of Advent. The big question of the day was "Are you Ready?" The question doesn't mean do you have up all your decorations, all the gifts bought, all the food made, etc. It pertains to Jesus returning. It was great to turn our focus on the real meaning of Christmas and begin to prepare our hearts for the miracle of Jesus's birth. I hope that as this season gets busy, you are able to take a few moments to reflect upon our Savior.
I am - happy and busy
I wonder - what Gus's voice will sound like
I see - clutter which I want to get rid of
I want - to be a good wife and mom
I pretend - that things don't bother me when sometime they doI worry - that I'm not a good mom and not good at keeping up with the house
I cry - a lot more than I wish, something sweet, something sad, someone hurting
I hope - I am pleasing my Savior and being a good example
I dream - of several things, but I don't feel like sharing them
I feel - lonely sometimes, but I love the wonderful life I've been blessed with
