Family Photos

We were ready for church a few minutes early this morning so we tried to get a few pictures! Gus did not want to cooperate when we got outside, but we still got a few.

Tired

Hello blog world from a tired mommy!

We had a busy week around here. We actually had several social things- which is branching out for us!

We were able to spend time with friends on Monday, and then again for lunch on Tuesday at McDonald's.  I have started a Bible study too which I'm excited about! I left Gus and Maddie in the nursery while I went- I think Maddie cried although they told me she did ok. Gus tells me that she cried, and that I didn't come and get her..... talk about making me feel awful! I know it's important for me to be a better wife and mom to do things like this. I'm trying to be brave, and I know the kids will be just fine going to a nursery for just a short time.

I also got together with some other friends on Thursday night just for a little fellowship. It was a lot of fun to just get to visit and not have to worry about anything for a little while.

Josh had to work all week, so that is hard for all of us! We are looking forward to getting some rest this weekend and spending time together.

Someone asked me this week if adding a third has made things a lot harder. I really don't think so. Life with little kids is just hard, whether there are two or three of them. :) Right now, it is just taking one day at a time. I have so many special moments with each child daily. I'm thankful constantly to be able to stay home with them, although I do believe it is the hardest thing I've ever done. In every other stage of life, you have breaks. When in school you have holidays and summers. When working, you have the weekend. With kids, it is 24/7. There are no days off or sleeping late to recover. You get up and do it all again, and again, and again....

I hope to get back to blogging regularly eventually. If you don't already, feel free to follow me on Instagram- mrscatieh. I have been keeping up with it more on a daily basis. And I'll end with some pics.....

We have pig-tails now!!! I can't say how CUTE these are!! I LOVE them!

Enjoying playing outside

These two play ALL the time now! I love it! (except being referee every 5 minutes- not fun)

Gus loves his brother so much!

Yay sunshine! (and not sure what's going on with my hair...)

The last two days there's been lots of this :(

I'm still here....

Here's my attempt to blog as I anxiously await a cry from the bedroom :)

So how are things going here?? Great.. wonderful... it's sooo easy having three kids ages 3, 1 and 2 months.... HAH! I hope you got a laugh out of that :) It put a smile on my face!

We are keeping our heads above water around here. As soon as I get juice and crackers for one child, the next child has a poopy diaper, then it's time to feed the next one. And we start the cycle all over again. And then in between I try to fit in a few loads of laundry and pick up a few toys. Because I do like to be able to walk in my bathroom and laundry room even though I'm never caught up on laundry. And you rarely can walk near my couch because the floor is covered in books and trucks.

I just took a few minutes to sit outside in the sun and read by myself....  IT'S A MIRACLE! In this season of life, most evenings I'm about to pull out my hair by the time the kids get to bed. Sadly blogging has just had to take a back-burner at the moment. I do hope to pick it back up as soon as I can. I just don't have time to get out my computer.

Although things are tough, there are tons of rewarding moments throughout the day. My conversations with Gus which are growing daily, Maddie's smiles and watching her play with Gus, and Jack's smiles and coos. Sometimes the light at the end of the tunnel seems so faint. But it is there. And I never want to live just hoping to reach the end and miss the scenery along the way. Because the scenery these days makes me smile.

2 Months ~ Jack

Just like that- and Jack is already two months old!

Jack - you are growing so fast!!! You don't look like a little baby anymore.
You are starting to get more on a schedule and stay awake for long periods of time.
You are wearing 3 month clothes and size 1 diapers. I think it won't be long before you are growing out of some of your 3 month clothes! You are a big boy.
You love to be held. You get upset when I put you down. When you cry, Gus and Maddie get concerned and want to help you.
You have so much entertainment around here. Gus and Maddie make you smile. I know that you can't wait to play with them, and they can't wait until you can. Gus is always saying, "Jack's growing" and "Jack's going to get bigger." A few days ago Gus asked me to put you down so you could walk. I know it'll just be a few months.
(Gus did this without me asking- such a sweet brother!)
(smiling at his sister)

You smile a lot! I love that. You also are starting to coo and try to make noises. It's so much fun.
I love you more each day,
Mommy

Gus Turns 3!

Since we were going to be at my parents' house around Gus's birthday, we celebrated Gus's birthday at their house the day before his birthday. My mom found the cutest decorations and had a wonderful cake made. Some more of my family had planned to come celebrate besides my sister and her family and my grandparents, but several of us were sick and we didn't want to pass it to anyone else. We were sad not to see them though!

Gus loved his cake! He has learned to show how old he is with his fingers!

We drove home on Gus's birthday, and he was a tired boy. We stopped and let him pick a balloon on the way home, and then we made and decorated some cupcakes (I had to get funfetti since that's what I always had on my birthdays). We sang happy birthday again and let him blow out the candles :)

(I love that all three kids are in this picture!)

Gus- I can't believe that you are 3! You make me smile every day! You wake us up every morning saying either, "I need a gummy bear" or "I need some juice." You keep me busy all day long. You are such a sweet boy. You have a tender heart. But you are all boy! I enjoy our conversations. I'm constantly amazed at how smart you are and how well you speak. You learn new words all the time! You love to sing. You love to dance to your cowboy songs. You still want daddy to run around the house with you. You enjoy being outside, although it's been too cold lately. You and Maddie play together a lot, and it's only going to get more fun as she gets older. You LOVE your brother Jack. You always want to see him and enjoy holding him. Today you asked me if I would put him down so he could walk. You always say, "Jack's growing!" or "Jack is going to get bigger." You can't wait for him to play with you too.

I love you so much my precious boy,
Mommy

Our Weekend with Family

I haven't forgotten about blogging! I have not had time when someone wasn't in my lap to get on my computer.

Last week we went to visit my parents. Josh had a meeting on Friday and Saturday, so the kids and I just spent time at my parents house. My sister lives next to them, so we enjoyed spending time with her and her little boy too. My grandparents also came for a couple of days while we were there! It was a great time to catch up with everyone.

Gus and Maddie loved being at MiMi and Big Daddy's house. They have a dog, a horse, and longhorn cows which they really enjoy. Grace my sister also has a cow- which we fed out the window. The kids loved that.

I'm so glad the kids have a cousin (soon to be two!) that are close in age.

My Sister and her little boy- he's such a cutie!

Proud Great-Grandparents- I love them more than words can say- these kids do not know how lucky they are :)

Proud Grandparents- the kids weren't really wanting to cooperate :)

My parents kept Gus and Maddie two nights while we were there, and we got to go to dinner with my sister and her husband. It was so nice for Josh and I to go to dinner without the big kids- a special treat. And of course the kids got a special treat being with MiMi and Big Daddy!

Gus turned 3 this week, and I will blog about that next!
