Heavy Heart

"If you faint in the day of adversity,
your strength is small.
Rescue those who are being taken away to death;
...
hold back those who are stumbling to the slaughter.
If you say, “Behold, we did not know this,”
does not he who weighs the heart perceive it?
Does not he who keeps watch over your soul know it,
and will he not repay man according to his work?"
Proverbs 24:10-12 ESV

I was just sitting in my living room, tears rolling down my face, as my heart is breaking. The news of the horrific actions of those at Planned Parenthood brings to our attention again the terrible acts with abortion. I often feel helpless. What can a housewife like me do? If I say anything who will hear? How can I really make a difference?

Last night Josh found an article that had some ideas of what we can do. Slaying the Abortion Giant  I posted the article on my facebook page, and then commented on the FB pages of two companies that I previously would make purchases from- indicating that I would no longer and that I hoped they stopped funding. No more Starbucks for us. I'm changing from Johnson and Johnson soap for the kids.

We cannot let this stop being in the news. The longer it is there, the more likely something will be done about it.

Although I know there will just be a handful of people that read this, I pray that you will feel lead to speak out. Precious lives are being lost daily. When I hold my children, my heart hurts for these precious babies.

Do something today.

"Not to speak is to speak. Not to act is to Act."

It's Hot!!

We continue to stay busy in our new home. The kids and I were sick for a week but are better now.

Two weekends ago we went to my parents house. Saturday Josh and I went into Dallas for a busy day. First, we went to a homeschool book fair. We listened to one session and then just shopped the vendors. We picked out a preschool curriculum to do with the kids this fall. I think it'll be perfect for our family. Josh and I then had a really yummy lunch.

Josh and I then both got our hair cut. It had been a long time since I had mine cut, and the guy did a great job! We ran a couple more places and had dinner. It was a nice break day for us.

We spend Sunday with my family, eating lunch at one of my favorite places.

It was then nap time, then time for the pool.  I'm just so happy to be close enough to do this now. It's such a blessing.

Last night was a big night for us- our first time leaving the kids with a babysitter. I was extremely nervous but tried to be brave. Everything went great! The kids didn't cry when we left the house and they had a fun time. It was a big step for us, and we are excited now that we have someone.

We have so many new opportunities in our new home, it has been great!! We've been spending a lot of time inside because it's been very hot!!! Here are some random pictures from the last few weeks.

Summertime

We have done quite a bit since my last post so I will try to get caught up.

Josh was off work on my birthday, and we went to visit my family. We went to lunch at Chili's with my mom, grandparents, and sister and her family. Then we spent the rest of the day at my moms and had burgers for dinner. My mom made me one of my favorite cakes. It was just a perfect day.

For the 4th of July, Josh's mom was able to come visit for the weekend. It is so nice that we live close enough now that she can just drive up. Josh's dad was busy and couldn't come this visit. On Saturday we drove to a nearby town and watched a wonderful parade! We then ate some BBQ and headed back home.

We had 8.5 inches of rain this last week within 24 hours. Yes- it is crazy!!!! Josh's new store is between two creeks and one morning all the roads were closed so he couldn't get to work. There wasn't any flooding near our house thankfully, it is up pretty high.

We have been visiting a church and are really enjoying it. We have met lots of people there. The kids and I have already had several play dates which has been great. One was to the country club pool- the kids had so much fun!

We are still getting settled, but things are very good in our new home.
