Misc. Monday

lowercase letters

We had such a looonng week, we were all very ready for the weekend! Josh had worked more than usual and wanted to spend time with the kids. So I worked on Saturday! I enjoyed being out of the house, and the kids loved their time with Daddy. I only worked until 2 so it wasn't bad at all.

After naps, we decided to go to a nearby town to make a trip to Target and a couple of other places. We needed formula for Maddie, and I had some coupons so we decided to stock up. When we got to Target the formula was on sale where you get a gift card with purchase. We were those crazy people at the checkout making multiple transactions so we could us all our coupons and gift cards, BUT we got some good deals and won't have to buy formula for a while!!! I may have watched some Extreme Couponing on TLC wishing I could be better with coupons ;)

I bought some chocolate at Target and Gus had some too.....
We also went to a Christian bookstore to get a few things for Gus. We got him two cds because he LOVES music. We also got him a new Bible and book.

After looking at the Bibles, we decided on this one. We wanted something to introduce more Bible stories but that would hold his

I had seen this book somewhere on the Internet and picked it up at the store. We really like the message it gives and we are excited to start reading it to Gus and Maddie.

Sunday gave us more time as a family. We had a really nice weekend.

5 Things About Our Baby #3

1~ Yes, the baby was "planned." Maddie and the baby will be 14 months apart. We always wanted our kids to be close in age.

2~ Yes it is hard being pregnant with two little ones. But it is a season, and hopefully in a few years they will be happily playing together because they are so close.

3~ This will most likely be our last child. I'm tired :)

4~ I don't care if its a girl or a boy! We will find out in just a few weeks!

5- The most common response when people find out - "you are brave!" We just want to enjoy this phase and then move on to the next one. I'm excited about all the different stages with our kids. We feel so very blessed. We found out this little one was coming on Mother's Day- a day I'll never forget! Babies are a miracle- from the moment of conception to birth. God has been good to us.

Around here....

Thank you for all the congrats on Baby #3! I will try to start putting weekly or biweekly updates on here and some more details soon.

This week has been very busy around here. I worked Monday and Tuesday, and my mom and grandparents came to watch Gus and Maddie. Gus and Maddie had so much fun playing with their MiMi, MawMaw, and PawPaw!! I enjoyed a little break from being home and worked with Josh at the pharmacy. I only got one picture while they were here- of Maddie and MawMaw:
Today we have been busy with normal life. It is cloudy and cool here today so we have been playing outside a lot. We live near a playground. It really is too big for Gus, but I decided to give it a try today, and he did great and had fun. He also is quite good at riding his "bicycle." I wanted to video him a little because he's so cute riding it, and the way he says "bicycle" makes me smile too. He now knows to smile when he says "cheese!"

Maddie watched from a car. Gus loved this car, and just in the last week we have discovered that Maddie is big enough to enjoy it too!

Love these two cuties!

Maddie - 8 Months!

I say this every month, but I cannot believe how fast Maddie is growing. This has been a very big month for Maddie.
Maddie is busy busy busy! She's crawling everywhere. And now she can play even better with her brother which she loves.

She is pulling up on everything.
And just today- she started "walking" pushing this cart in this video- walking is not far away!
Maddie is so much happier now that she can move around which makes me happy.
She started saying "Ma." Yay!! She's just much more animated now that she can move.

We love you more every day sweet girl!!!

5 on Friday

1) Last weekend we went to a wildlife preserve about 20 minutes from where we live. We took a little hike. We didn't last long because it was 100 degrees and there wasn't much shade. Here's what the area looks like- not probably what you were imagining!

2) My sweet husband brought me this when he came home from work last night- I think I'll keep him ;)
3) Maddie has no trouble drinking from sippy cups. She finished off some of her brother's juice yesterday!
4) I've been trying some new serum and moisturizer for my face the last week or so. Since I'm getting older, I decided I needed to take better care of my skin so I won't be too scary in a few years :) I'll let you know how  things are going with it in a few weeks!

5) Yesterday both kids napped at the same time for 3 hours!!!! This was one happy momma! However, Maddie decided to wake up the whole house at 4 this morning..... not sure if it was worth it :)

What are your plans for the weekend?

Lately

Just wanted to share a few pictures of the kids and what they have been up to.

Nearly every morning Gus has been playing outside a lot. He loves to ride his tricycle and just explore the yard with the dogs. He also enjoys eating breakfast- here he's having " meal-meal" (oatmeal).

Gus tried a quesadilla the other day when I made them for Josh. He is now a huge fan, and he calls them " quesabilla!".

Maddie is ready to play with Gus! She and Gus played a few days ago in the little playhouse. It was such a fun moment for me to see them both in there- it is like a dream coming true to see them playing together.

Our house has a lot of playing going on all the time! These kids keep me running :)

Hello!

I decided to do a link-up today so I hope you enjoy.

1) I have decided I'm really not a fan of summer. I really don't like it to be hot! Highs in the upper 70s would be plenty hot for me, unless I was on vacation at a beach or something :)

2) There is not much to watch on tv this summer! We are watching HGTV Star and The Next Food Network start and that's about it. Do you have a favorite summer show?

3)  I have read two books in the last few months!! I read Sparkly Green Earrings by Melanie Shankle and Ever After By Vicki Courtney. I loved Sparkly Green Earrings and highly recommend it!! Ever After was pretty good too. Parts of it are more for newlyweds but it was still good. I downloaded both of these books on my phone then I could read whenever I had a few minutes.

4) I'm thinking about getting a blog makeover- who designed your blog??? Any recommendations??

5) I think I need a Peanut Butter Fudge shake from Sonic! Do they deliver?! ;)

Go Maddie Go

Maddie is on the go! She crawls from one room to another. She heads for everything I don't want her to - like shoes, the dog water bowl, and any electric cord she can see. It obviously is time for me to re-childproof the house! She puts everything in her mouth- like a leaf brought in by one of the dogs. I'm constantly looking at the floor for possible items she might eat.
But this little girl is so happy to be moving!
However, she really just wants to walk. So she is pulling up on everything. She seems to be much more brave than her brother which is scary for this mommy.
I know we are just getting so much closer to Maddie and Gus being able to run around and play together, and that makes me so happy!

30

Last week was my birthday! :) And I am admitting- it was the big one-30!

As I said before, my sister and mom and nephew came to visit for the weekend and we celebrated with them.

They brought a fun cookie cake with them that tasted so yummy!
On my birthday, I spent the day with my sweet babies. I meant to take a picture of me with both of them, but I did get one with Gus.
My sweet husband brought home a delicious carrot cake.
Later that evening, one of my closest friends came to spend the night. She stopped over at our house on her way to visit friends and then came on her way back. I've known her for about 15 years. I love that even when we haven't seen each other for a long time, we can get together and pick up right where we left off. She's really special to me!
I had a great few days celebrating. I see lots of people making lists of things to do before they turn 30. I never had a "list." I always hoped that I'd be married and have two kids by this time, and I am so blessed to have all of that!!! There is nothing I wish I had done by now. My life has had so many adventures, and I hope they continue for a long time!!!!!

Our 4th of July!

We had a great 4th this year! It began with being a part of the local parade. We decided last minute that we would use our car to drive the float for Josh's work. They did a great job decorating it. Gus and I enjoyed waiting in the car and then throwing candy to the kids.

For lunch we had some friends over that have boys Gus's age. Gus had so much fun running around with the boys!

After Gus's nap, we went to celebrate with some other friends, and Gus got to swim for the first time!
When we got home from that, I realized I hadn't taken any picture of Maddie so here is how cute she looked. She loved being busy all day. She did great in the car waiting and then driving in the parade.
And to top of the day, Josh and I stood in the middle of our street to watch our small town's amazing firework show.

We had a great day!

Recent Happenings

I need to play a little catch-up today on blogging! And don't forget to the giveaway which ends tomorrow!

So last week we went to a zoo in a nearby town with our friends! It isn't a huge zoo, but they have lots of animals, and Gus enjoys it. I enjoy having something to do outside of the house!

I let Gus out of the stroller some to be a "big" boy with his friend who is 4.
And we got a picture of all the kids. It was impossible to get them all looking at the same time! But aren't they cute?!?!
This weekend my mom, sister, and my nephew came to visit! We all loved having them here. The kids are just starting to play together, I know it is just the beginning of many many fun years ahead.
And we tried to get a family picture since we had someone to take it. Gus doesn't like to smile for pictures. It's just hard to get pictures with kids!

We have been having quite a big of rain lately too! It has been so wonderful! After two years of drought, every drop is an answer to prayer. And I don't think I'll ever get tired of the sound of thunder.

We have another busy week ahead. I'll post about it soon!
