Misc. Monday

I got my camera back- YAY!!! So I wanted to share some pictures from last week.

1) I tried brussel sprouts for the first time. I just roasted them in the oven with olive oil, salt, and pepper.

Now you have to understand I am a picky eater. I don't like broccoli or a lot of other vegetables. So it was a big deal for me to eat these. I tasted them, and honestly- they weren't horrible. But I wouldn't probably choose to eat them. They do stink when they are cooking. But I could tolerate eating a little of them.

2) Josh's Birthday! Here is Josh with Gus eating lunch:

Josh's cake:

Gus ate some cake too- he liked it!

Our family:
3) We inherited some furniture from my grandfather's house since he past away last year. We had some family moving some other stuff nearby, and so we moved the furniture with them. It is a bedroom suite for our bedroom. It is so nice, we are really blessed to have it! We have needed new furniture, and this worked out perfectly. Some friends in town helped Josh move the heavy stuff into the house and then had pizza with us on Saturday night. We had a really nice time getting to know them better.

4) Sunday we relaxed and just spent time as a family. It was a wonderful day. Josh told me it was the most relaxed he had been in weeks. I was very excited because a series I love started back up on Sunday night:This show is on PBS. It is a story set during WWI in England. Josh and I watched it last January and were crushed when the season was over. We anxiously have been waiting for it to start again. We might buy it on DVD too- they just don't make shows like this anymore.

5) I have trying to be more organized, and so far it is working quite well. As for example, I ironed Josh's clothes for the week last Friday, so I didn't have to iron this morning.

6) I am continuing the verse memorization this week. I found this verse while reading my Jesus Calling devotional.

"He will tend His flock like a shepherd; He will gather the lambs in His arms; He will carry them in his bosom, and gently lead those that are with young."
Isaiah 40:11

To know that God will gently guide me as I am leading and raising Gus is such a comfort!

Have a wonderful week!!
