My Blessings

When I saw one of my "blog friends" was doing a link-up about blessings in our lives, I knew I wanted to write a post.

I've been doing a Bible study on Gideon. Last week, we wrote down mundane everyday tasks that we have to do that can be not fun. I could easily think of several! After we recorded them, then we turned them into being thankful for something, and I looked at them as blessings as well.

When I am feeling frustrated, tired, or overwhelmed by everyday tasks, I want to remember these prayers:
 
When I'm tired of cleaning the kitchen and washing bottles: Thank you Lord for my family who I get to cook for. Thank you for food for us to eat. Thank you for blessing me with children for whom I use the bottles, and for the food for them. 

When I'm tired of doing laundry: Thank you Lord for nice clothes to wear, and for more than I really need. Thank you for my washer and dryer which are such a luxury. Thank you for clean water to wash with. And thank you for blessing me with my family who rely on me to wash their clothes. 

When I'm tired of picking up toys: Thank you Lord for my sweet children. You heard my prayers and desires for children and were gracious to give them to me to care for. Thank you for blessing us with toys for them to play with. 

When I'm tired of changing diapers: Thank you yet again Lord for blessing me with the amazing gift of my children. Thank you for their smiles, their laughter, and for the great task of raising them Thank you for blessing us with the ability to have diapers for them to wear to keep them clean and healthy.  

I know so many of the little things I use and do each day are such a luxury that most in this world don't have. I don't want to spend a day not realizing how blessed I am.
