Easter 2014

I hope you each had a wonderful Easter with family celebrating our Risen Savior!

We had a very nice day. It was just us this year. After Josh and the kids went to get donuts, they hunted eggs in the house.
We tried to get lots of pictures before church. Gus did not want to cooperate very much. So we just got a few with all the kids.

This is how it went trying to get either of us with all the kids....

We had a really nice lunch after church, then relaxed the rest of the day.

Jack is 3 Months!

Jack is 3 months old today- and as always time is flying by!

I'm tired tonight so this will be short :)
Jack loves to talk and smile :) But you also know when he is unhappy!
He likes to be at home. When I take him somewhere and he realizes it, he has a breakdown. Jack loves his brother and sister, and they love him sooo much.
You are such a cutie!! I Love you!!

What Can I Do?

Life is busy around our house. The calendar might not be full. And most days the kids and I only go to Sonic for a coke,  but just all the everyday stuff keeps us running. There is really no way to understand how time consuming having kids is until you've done it. The job is 24/7.

Although the kids keep me running, I still want to do things for others too. But most volunteer work at church is impossible because I couldn't really do anything with the three kids with me. And I can't go visit someone or be with them at the hospital, because bringing three kids along will cause more stress than help!

So what can I do??

I believe with all my heart that at this time in my life that my calling is to care for my family. Other moms ask me how I'm doing because they know how hard taking care of little ones is. But I'm not the first to have little ones to care for and I won't be the last! I won't sit at home and feel sorry for myself because of how hard things are, because I have so many blessings in my life.

So how can I be a blessing to others when I can't " go " to them or do things.

Prayer.

Over the last few years I have really come to know how precious the gift of prayer is. The number of people around me going through difficult times seems to keep growing, and that gives me more and more things to bring before the Lord.

I do not get up early every morning for "quiet time". I don't get much sleep with a baby around and kids that get up early. I pray all day long. Whenever I think of a person or situation that needs prayer, I lift it up to the Lord. I recently printed this for my fridge- and this verse has become one of my favorites.

"Because He inclined His ear to me, therefore I will call on Him as long as I live." Psalm 116:2

In my darkest moments I have felt The Lord wrap me in His arms. I believe He will do the same for others struggling, and so I lift them up.

So I'll continue my crazy days as wife and mommy. And when I can't "go" and "do" for others- I will pray.

For all you other moms out there that can't "do" much, you can pray :)

5 on Friday

1) It's been a long week at our house! Last week, this week, and next week Josh is working a lot, which is hard for all of us! It makes us just more thankful for the time we do have together!

2) What tv shows are you watching this Spring?? We have been watching a few although we usually just watch them when we get a chance to catch up. We've been watching The Voice and American Idol. We are ready for The Voice to get to the live shows. American Idol has been pretty good- I've enjoyed watching it since Harry Connick Jr. has been on there- he's one of my favorites. I even got to go to one of his concerts- he is so talented! We watch the Good Wife- anyone else out there watch it???? I'm not too happy about the last two episodes to say the least! We have a few others we watch too. What are your favorites right now??? We like to try new stuff.

3) We have had some warm days this week. On Wednesday, the kids had lunch outside. We also made some bird feeders and have enjoyed watching the birds eat from them!

4) We got some of the Cedarmont Kids DVDs for Gus and Maddie, and they love them. Last night Josh and I could hear Gus singing "I'm in the Lord's Army" in his room when he was supposed to be going to bed. It made our hearts happy :)

5) We had a nutritious lunch around here today- bananas and french fries....... :)
