When I'm about to lose it...

Yesterday was just one of those days. The kids weren't listening or cooperating, my patience was short, and we were all getting very frustrated with each other. I'm sure you other moms have had those moments when you feel like you just cannot tell your child the same thing one more time.

So you ask how it is going with 3!?! It's good, but it's hard. Having a baby is not the hardest part either. A baby you can just put down if you need to, and they don't get into trouble....

Life just keeps racing and crawling by each day. The kids are growing and learning so much. And at the same time- some days we are all just watching the clock until Daddy gets home!

I do feel like some things have been easier with Jack since he's the 3rd. I'm more relaxed. I've had to split my time before (of course there was less splitting before :)) Maddie is younger than Gus was when I had her, so that is more challenging.

The most important thing I'm always reminding myself is just to take a moment at a time. I'll feel like everything is under control, then in a matter of seconds, things are chaos!

Over the last few weeks I've read several blogs and articles that I think can really speak to moms, and so I wanted to share them here for you.

Updates on my babies- Jack is 6 weeks old- when did that happen!?!? How is he big enough for the Bumbo??
Maddie is starting to love books:

Shower, Visitors, and a Song

I think about blogging multiple times a day, but it is almost impossible to make it happen!!! I can't get on my computer when Gus and Maddie are up. They start pulling on either me or the computer in no time. And Jack has started crying..... for no reason in the evenings. After we get the kids to bed, Josh or I are holding Jack trying to keep him happy. So that leaves naptime. And most days in holding jack or relaxing during that short time. Today- I'm writing this on my phone while holding Jack.

I wanted to just write about a few things going on around here.

About two weeks ago some sweet friends gave me a Sip & See. It was just perfect. It was a fun time to let people see and hold Jack, and we were blessed with lots of diapers too.

Last weekend Josh's parents drove up to visit. They live over 10 hrs away so they aren't able to visit often, so we were excited to have them come and meet Jack.

And here's just some pictures and a video of life around our house:

Corn dogs are a favorite around here:

A calm sleeping Jack is always a good thing:

Gus loves his brother!
Maddie pulling Gus- yes she was pulling him!!

Gus loves to sing! I love listening! (Maddie adds to the song too)

One Month ~ Jack

I'm a few days behind on this post- but I did get his pictures taken on the right day!!
This first month has gone by quickly, and Jack- you are just growing and growing!!
You are wearing size 1 diapers, and can wear some 3 month clothes! It almost feels like I can see you growing it is happening so fast. You are getting chubby everywhere and looking so healthy :) Your eyes finally decided on a color- and they are a beautiful blue just like I knew they would be!
The main thing we have noticed is that you have learned - just like your brother and sister- how to cry for hours for no reason :( I have read about people who have babies that are happy all the time and only get upset if they are dirty or hungry. That is not the case with any of my kids. I am just continuing to be thankful that when you cry for long periods of time, it is never in the middle of the night like your brother Gus did.
You have times when you stretch to 4 hours between eating, and you have done this at night some too which is nice for me. I have been able to get some sleep, so that has been a huge blessing.
You have lots of entertainment around here from your brother and sister. They both love you and check on you. Even your sister has learned how to put the pacifier in your mouth and tries to help you if you are crying. I know you are going to catch up with both of them before I know it!
I love you so much. I love just watching you and getting to know you. You are a perfect addition to our family and such a blessing.

My Valentines

Valentine's Day is a special day at our house. I've always enjoyed this day, even before I had a boyfriend or husband to celebrate with.

Josh and I had our first date on Valentine's Day 5 years ago, so it will always be special for us. (one of the first pictures of us after we started dating)

This year it was fun celebrating with the kids. We started the morning off with heart shaped pancakes, and we gave the kids cards and candy from us.

The kids wore cute outfits that MiMi sent for them.

During the morning Valentine cookies were delivered to the house for all of us from Josh- we are so spoiled!

The kids and I then went to visit Josh at work and took him the Valentine we made him and some candy. We stopped by Sonic on our way home and picked up some lunch.

For dinner Josh picked up Mexican food. It is actually the same chain where we had our first date so it's a fun tradition.

It was a fun day celebrating those we love.

Today

Today if you looked in my house, you might find me.....

Vacuuming with one hand, Jack in the other ( he likes the noise and stops crying-yay me !)

Cleaning up yet another accident on the floor, because even after months of potty training, we still aren't perfect

Cutting out hearts, in an attempt to do at least a few Valentine's day activities with Gus

Just sitting on the couch watching tv holding my baby, because he won't be a baby for long

Changing a diaper, then another diaper, then ...... Well, you get the picture

Filling a cup with juice or getting a cracker, there's not much better than juice and crackers

Watching a brother and sister play together, there isn't much else that makes me so happy
Keeping an eye in that same brother and sister- as they try to play with their new brother, who just isn't quite big enough yet (but he sure enjoys the entertainment!)

We are enjoying just normal days at home. Singing Mickey songs, learning how to play together, and remembering what really matters- and letting all the dirt under the furniture and the dust on the table be there a while :)

Snow and Costco

Things continue to go well around here! Jack has started to have some periods where he is quite unhappy, but they are always during the day so it isn't too bad. Josh was off for two days this week so that was a wonderful break. We got just a little snow, and Maddie and Gus enjoyed playing in it.

A Costco was recently built about 70 miles from us, and we decided to get a membership. We went there for the first time yesterday. One item we wanted to get there was milk, and we bought 8 gallons!! We bought a few other things too. I'm going to start researching to see what I can really save money on buying there. I won't be going to the store as much now with 3, so it'll be nice to be able to stock up on some things. What are your favorite items to buy in bulk? What do you like to save money on at Costco?

I got my hair cut yesterday too. I wanted it quite a bit shorter, and it has not been this short for I think 8 years! I'm not perfectly happy with the cut, but it'll grow out right!?!? I am always nervous getting my haircut because I don't have one person who always does it . I'll get a picture to share soon.

And here's some pictures of my baby boy- this bear outfit is a 3 month. It's a little long, but he fits in it..... Can time stop for a little while please???? Love him so much :)

And then there were 3......

I am way outnumbered now around the house! This is my third day of taking care of all the kids alone, and it really is going well.

For months I had been thinking in my head of how a day would go when I would have all three kids to take care of. Yes, I am very busy. But it hasn't made me want to pull my hair out... I'm sure that day will come :)

You forget so quickly how much newborn babies sleep! It can be nice if you need to get a few things done. Jack slept most of the morning on Monday, so I was able to do lots with Gus and Maddie and some laundry. Today, he has cried quite a bit, so Gus is still in his pjs and the house is a bit of a mess. I know I have to divide my time between everybody, and it is a little hard. I know Jack will only be little for such a short time, and so I want to hold him and enjoy the newborn moments as much as I can. But I have to change Gus's clothes when he has an accident. Or get everyone snacks, etc. It is a balancing act, but it is doable.

We have had people bringing us food for dinner which has been a HUGE help!

Jack is still sleeping pretty well at night. He normally just wakes up every 3 hours to eat and goes right back to sleep. I'm soooo thankful for that.

And he will probably be awake soon so I'm going to wrap this post up. I starting to feel like myself again. I was able to chase Gus around the house, which hasn't happened in a long time. Things are good, Josh and I are tired, but it is all good :)

And for some pictures...

Growing too fast!!
Playing Blocks..
Maddie learned how to get in my old rocker :)
Not sure why he needed his hand in the air...
Love this little boy with a big personality!
What happened to my little girl??? She is so adventurous!
