Am I doing things right???

Am I a good mom??

Am I teaching Gus enough each day?

Do I pay enough attention to him, and also enough attention to keeping the house clean?

Did he eat enough healthy food today?

Do I have all the groceries I need for dinner, or what I am going to cook for dinner?

How can I raise two kids if I'm not even sure I'm raising one right?

Do we get out of the house enough?

Have we been gone from the house too much and need more time at home?

Am I sloppy because I have a stack of papers I just can't seemed to get cleaned off of the table?

These and so many other thoughts have been plaguing me lately. Yes, we have a lot going on right now. Josh has been busy with work. We've been busy with activities. We are trying to get ready for the baby. Oh yeah and I'm pregnant...... Maybe the pregnancy is playing with my head. I know deep down things are ok. I'm not doing anything "wrong." But- I want to do the best job at everything.

So today:

I'm going to love on my little boy

I'm going to dance with Gus when he wants to dance

I'm going so make sure I get a little rest- so I can grow a healthy little girl

I'm going to enjoy the rainy Fall weather

I'm going to pick up the house if I have time, and if I don't it can wait

I'm going to make an easy dinner- baked potatoes

I'm going to thank God for all the amazing blessings He has poured out on me

And I choose joy- what a blessed life I live :)

31 Weeks

How far along: 31 Weeks and 2 Days ( in the picture)

Size of baby: Head of Lettuce- 19 in, 3.9 lbs!

Maternity Clothes: Yes. When I try to wear regular shirts, I have to pull them down all the time, so I wear a tank or cami underneath. Maternity are just easier

Movement: Very much. Her movements are getting a little slower now. And the last few days it has felt like she is wanting out!

Sleep: It would probably be fine, but I have had a sinus infection for a month and can't stop coughing.

Symptoms: Well, it has started feeling like I'm carrying around a watermelon. Sometimes I can't stand up for long periods of time. But still overall, it hasn't been bad.

Food cravings/aversions: Nothing different really than usual, I've been thirsty.

What I am looking forward to: We pretty much got the nursery decorated and so I'm very happy about that. I cannot wait to meet and hold my little girl, although I'm not quite ready for her to be here yet. I just want to get over this sinus infection so I'll feel good when she gets here! I think my dog Bear knows she is coming. He has been wanting to be close to me a lot lately :)

So- here is a picture of me at 31 weeks with Gus. Can you see the difference?????? Yay for no swelling!!!

And here's a sneak peak at the nursery :)

Her crib with the mobile I made. The little rocker was mine when I was a little girl. We don't have her bedding yet, I'll share it when we do.

One of my favorite things in her room, these curtains!! The colors in her room are pink, green and yellow. I love the pattern on the curtains. This antique vanity has been mine forever! We took the mirror off the top and will use it as her changing table. And we have our newborn diapers ready to go :) You might notice the windowsill is pink. I was watching HGTV and saw a home where they had painted just the windowsills. We thought it would bring a fun pop of color to her room.

We have quite a few other things on the walls, but those will just have to wait :)

I'm planning to start putting some meals in the freezer for after she gets here, like tacos and spaghetti sauce. What are some of your favorite freezer meals!!!! Please Share!

Lately

We had a really nice weekend, just being at home and working on things around the house. I wanted to get you updated on what Gus has been up to!

Gus's vocabulary seems to be exploding! Some of his new words over the last couple of weeks are backpack, waffle, moo, quack quack, yellow, purple, mawmaw, and car. Whenever we are getting ready to leave the house he says, "reeee??" I think that means ready, but we aren't sure! He tried to say baby once, but it isn't regular yet. He is just getting better and better about repeating what we say.

And of course this momma taught her boy how to say, "Go Cowboys!" Yes, he will kinda say it, and he puts his fist in the air to cheer. We practiced during the Dallas Cowboy football game yesterday. He was very good at cheering for the team.

Gus colored us his first picture at Mother's Day Out. I'll keep this forever :)

Gus has started pretending to talk on the phone. It is sooooooo cute!!! He walks around, and leans his head onto the phone and pretends he is in deep conversation.

This is his usual look, and his favorite thing is to pretend with a real phone!

Sometimes after a nap, a boy just needs to sit on the couch with his mommy and have some oreos and milk :) (and the couch gets covered in oreo- such a mess!)

I have two amazing yard men!! In this picture, Gus saw me taking it and wanted to pose.
Gus watches his Daddy to make sure he is pushing the same direction.

It won't be long until he's pushing this one around!
I got very excited when this showed up on our back porch!!! Yay Fall!!! I'm just waiting for that first cold day when we can build a fire :)

We spent much of the weekend finishing Little Miss's room!!! It looks GREAT!!! We are so happy with how it turned out. Curtains are up, things are up on the walls. We cannot wait to meet our sweet little girl! I'm going to give just a preview later this week. The full reveal will have to come after she is born when we announce her name :)

A Day at the Zoo

I'm so excited to be able to be a part of a MOPS group this year. I missed the first meeting, but there was a playdate today. Everyone met at a zoo in a nearby town. I had never been to this zoo before, and it was Gus's first time ever to a zoo! I thought he would really enjoy seeing the animals. Although the zoo is small, they had lots of animals!
Gus was a little tired today, but he enjoyed seeing the animals and watching all the other kids!
The deer were not shy, and they were beautiful.

The bears seemed friendly too.
Gus and I (30 weeks pregnant!)
Gus was tired when we were finished, he fell asleep in the car on the way home :)

A reminder- you can order from my Thirty-One Gifts party HERE :)

Thirty-One Gifts Party!

I'm very excited to be hosting a Thirty-One Gifts Catalog/Online Party. This way each of YOU can participate if you would like.

My friend Randi introduced me to Thirty-One Gifts just a few months ago. She has used their bags to organize all kinds of things, and since then I have started using them too!! I always have a hard time picturing what bags will actually look like when you order them online, so I want to share pictures of the bags I have ordered to give you an idea of what they look like and the sizes!

Here is the zipper pouch I use for Gus:
I put this in my diaper bag, and it holds all his diapers, wipes, and snacks. This makes it easier for me to find things in the big diaper bag. I can just pull this bag out and know exactly what is in it. It is a big bag and holds a lot! I also just take this out when I drop him off at the nursery at church. I don't carry a purse and diaper bag, so this way I can just take this bag out and take the diaper bag with me. I know this will be even more convenient when we have Little Miss. I can leave Gus's bag with him and have all of her stuff in the diaper bag with me. I also love having his name on this bag.

My mom got me this thermal tote:

I LOVE this print!! I have wished to have a thermal bag since we sometimes like to buy stuff at groceries stores in other towns since we live in such a small town. Now I have something to use! It will also be great for car trips.

You can see how big it is compared to this coke can:

I also have this Organizing Utility Tote:
I got this to put toys, diapers, wipes, and anything else we might need to keep in the car. We used to just have the floor of the back seat littered with toys and all Gus's stuff. Now I try to put everything in this bag!
As you can see, it can hold a lot! Here is a regular size wipes bag, a coke, and there is TONS of room. It will hold puzzles, magazine, pretty much anything.
It also has lots of pockets around the outside that can hold a coke can or water bottle (this is a mini water bottle).

A few weeks ago we ordered Josh's sister the cosmetic bag as a birthday gift:
I love how cute the monogram turned out!

I am already trying to think about Christmas gifts, and I think a monogrammed bag is a great gift. They have tons of different prints for each of their bags, different fonts for the monograms and different thread colors. I will be glad to help if you have questions about colors or anything like that.

Also, there is a SPECIAL going on this month! For every $31 dollars you spend, you can choose another item and get 31% off that item (excluding collegiate). If you have questions on prices with the discount, just ask!

Click HERE to go to my party and then click "shop now"!

I think you will enjoy these bag just like I have!! Enjoy shopping!!!!!

Visiting Family and Friends

While on our trip last week, we were able to see lots of family and friends!!

First, we saw Josh's sister! We were able to meet up with her for lunch. Gus enjoyed seeing his Aunt Brittany :)

We also were able to meet up for lunch with our friends that live in San Antonio. I have written several times about my friend Randi and her two boys Robby and Charlie. Josh was glad to be able to see her husband Tim, and Gus and Robby enjoyed watching the ducks and throwing rocks.

Gus also loved seeing Charlie, I think Gus is going to be a great big brother :)

I always love any time I get to spend with Randi!!!!

And Gus was worn out after so much fun :)

We also were able to see our friends Adam Kasie, and Cale. Cale is just 6 days younger than Gus, and they enjoyed playing together.  I sadly didn't get very many pictures. We had a great time catching up!!

My grandparents that used to live near us now live near my parents. We were able to go visit them at their new house which is really nice! We are happy that they found such a great place to live and are close to the rest of our family, although we hate them being so far from us!! Their new house is near an outlet mall, so we had to make a quick visit to shop a little (which I would like to add I actually didn't buy anything!) My sister and mom went with us to visit them.

I love this picture of my mom, sister and me.

We also saw all my aunts and uncles at the shower but I didn't get any pictures :) We are so blessed by our family and friends! I wish I had even more pictures to share.
