Mother's Day 2015

We have had a lot going on the last couple of months, so we decided to just add one more thing to the calendar :)

This weekend, we went and stayed at the little cabin where we stayed last summer in New Mexico. It was a nice little getaway, and I loved my Mother's day!

We drove up on Friday- it is always so fun to go there because it only takes 4 1/2 hrs to get there which just isn't bad at all. We started the trip with a stop at Walmart for groceries. The kids enjoyed it because they have "fun shopping carts."

I absolutely love the mountains and open spaces. It was all beautiful. I also like cool weather and there was plenty of that! We looked at the navigation, and it showed that we weren't driving on a road- my favorite kind of drive.

There's a fun park for the kids a few miles away, and we visited it more than once while we were there.

Saturday we drove to Red River, New Mexico.

It's a little place, but fun to visit. We ate at a burger place we like.

The kids played at another park, and we rode go-carts. The town was very quiet, we rode the go-carts by ourselves! It was Maddie's first time, and she wasn't sure about it.

Both big kids enjoyed riding this horse.

We never ride stuff like this- just something special for vacation, and then we walked over to the candy store and let them pick something. Just a fun day of things you do while on vacation. :)

As we were driving back to the cabin, it started snowing!!! And it snowed off and on for the rest of the day. I LOVED it. I felt like it was a special gift just for me. Now I can make it through the hot Texas summer :)

We ate dinner each night at the cabin. It's easier that way and then the kids can get to bed.

On Mother's day, we drove over to Taos, New Mexico. We ate lunch at a place I love, and I had green chili shrimp enchiladas.

They were very good. Then we walked around and looked in a few shops. My dad is an artist and has some art in a gallery there. We went there to see it and got this picture!

We spent the evening sitting by the fire, watching some of our favorite tv shows, and watching the elk!! They came right up close to the house!! It was another gift :)

I'm thankful for our little weekend away. It was great.

And I'm so happy to say that we have a contract on our house!! God always takes such good care of us- we are very thankful

Recent Happenings

Since I last wrote, we have slowly been making plans for our move.

A few weeks ago we traveled to the place we are moving and found a house!!!! We are so excited about it and think it will be just perfect for us. I'll share pictures of it once we move. The weekend we house shopped we spent time with my family and had a great time as always.

Gus and his cousin had so much fun being pulled around in this jeep

You would think I would be busy packing away, but I am not right now. The company Josh works for is providing movers for us, so I'm waiting to meet with them to see what all they will pack and what I need to pack. This is wonderful for us, but also a little strange! I'm meeting with them this week, so that will give me a better idea of what I need to do.

We've been having some beautiful weather, and the kids have enjoyed lots of time outside. I'm trying to soak up all this dry weather, because we are moving to a more humid area of which I am NOT a fan :)

The kids just continue to learn and grow on a daily basis. Jack is getting better and better at communicating which is fun. He has several more teeth coming in too. Maddie has done great with her potty training- I'm so proud of her! We also switched her to a big bed this week instead of her crib. She wasn't too happy the first night because she really did love her crib. She does like to get out of bed, so it is just going to take some time for her to learn to stay in bed. We've had a few nights over the last week where it seemed like one of the kids was up every hour.... Just life with a 4, 2, and 1 year old I guess.

Jack decided he could take out the trash...

Jack was so happy and felt so big to sit at the table with Gus and Maddie

This morning before our lunch at McDonald's with friends- Maddie's hair was loving the humid weather!!

We are all ready for this new adventure!! Our current house has not sold yet- but we know God has a plan and will take care of us! It's such a wonderful house- I'm sure someone is going to love it and enjoy it as we have.
