Precious Time With Friends

We were able to go visit some of our best friends for a long weekend. We have known Tim and Randi for almost 7 years! Randi and I got to go through our first pregnancies together- Gus and Robby are just 7 weeks apart!

The week Gus was born Tim and Randi moved over 7 hours away. We have made efforts though since they moved to see each other and keep up. I don't know what I would do without having Randi to go through motherhood with me.

The first night we were at their house we went out for dinner to celebrate Randi's birthday! We were talking how it is funny how in less than two years we have gone from eating out with just the 4 of us to 8!

Our big outing while there was to the to the zoo! I'm going to give that a post of its own. It was so much fun to see Robby and Gus enjoy the animals.

Gus, Robby, and Charlie enjoyed playing together!! Gus was so comfortable at their house and made himself at home. Our dogs were also excited about the visit. They were buddies before they moved!

Two clean boys- with almost matching pj's- and it wasn't even planned!

 Painting!
Randi and I always talk about all the things we would do together if we lived close. It was fun to be able to do that for a few days. One afternoon the boys stayed with the dads, and Randi, Maddie, and I made a trip to sonic and target! We had so much fun.

Our next time to see our friends is already on the calendar. No matter how much distance is between us, we remain close!!!!

Great-Grandparent Visit

I have so much to share, but between being gone, having internet and computer issues, blogging just hasn't happened. I will do my best to get caught up soon!

A few weeks ago my grandparents came to visit. They used to live only an hour and a half from us, but last summer they moved about 7 hours away! We miss them very much and were thrilled for them to visit. Gus and Maddie had so much fun!

Gus enjoyed playing with his cars:
Playing outside:
Watching tv while having a snack:
Maddie enjoyed being held:

And dancing in front of the mirror- she loves to stand up!
My grandparents played a huge role in my life and are so special to me. I am so blessed that they can be a part of Gus's and Maddie's lives too.

We love you MawMaw and PawPaw and can't wait until we see you again!

3 Months

My baby girl Maddie is 3 months old today- I can't believe it. She's growing way too fast.

Maddie is wearing mostly 3 month clothes, although she can wear some 6 month like the dress in this picture. I'm not sure how much she weighs, but I know she has been gaining a lot! She is wearing size 1-2 diapers. She eats about 3 oz every 3 hours, sometimes more or less frequently.
Maddie is sometimes a good sleeper. She really fights sleep when she gets tired and has a bit of a fit. We put her to bed usually between 8-9, and then she gets a dream feed between 10-11. She then will sleep until around 2. On good days she goes back to sleep until about 6, but lately she doesn't want to go back to sleep at 2 and keeps me awake for an hour or two. She isn't crying, just awake and restless. We may move her to her room soon and hopefully we will both sleep better.
She is already wanting to be more independent. She likes to sit up and tries to sit up when she is in her chair or swing. If there is such a thing as crawling while on your back, she has it figured out. She moves quite a bit under her toy. Gus looks at her and says, "Move!"
She is very close to sitting up on her own. She loves to watch her brother, he makes her smile.

We thought she might be more easy going since she is the second born, but so far that has not been the case! She is definitely a firecracker!

She has started smiling and talking a lot!
Maddie- you just get more beautiful every day! I love seeing your smile and hearing your words. I love you more each day~ Mommy

While taking pictures- Gus decided to take Maddie's bow off....

I'm still here!

We have been quite busy around our house. My free time keeps getting smaller and smaller, and on top of that my computer is slowly dying! It has taken me about 10 minutes just to get these couple of sentences on here. As soon as I have a few minutes, I will try to get things all caught up!

Happy Valentine's Day!

Valentine's day will always be special to me. It was 4 years ago that Josh and I had our first date! So much has happened since then, life has been very good to us.

Last Friday we went to a Valentine's party at a friend's house. Gus enjoyed decorating cookies and playing with the other kids. Gus helped me make the cupcakes that I took to the party.

Our Valentine's celebration started last weekend, when we began making Valentine's for our family! We enjoyed it.

Josh gave Gus a cookie cake for Valentine's ( I gave Gus some M&Ms):

Josh gave me this cute cookie bouquet!:

Gus took Valentine's to Mother's Day Out this week. I made "Puppy Chow" and added Valentine M & M's  to it.

Maddie looked really cute today in her little dress- it is a size 6 month!! She can't be getting so big already!?!

Tonight we will be enjoying Mexican food from the same restaurant chain that we ate on our first date :)

A Visit, Cookies, and Little Boy

An update on what's going on around here:

My mom came to visit for the weekend. I only got a picture of her with Maddie, Gus was not in the mood to have his picture taken-

We went to some friends' house for a Super Bowl Party Sunday night. I made these Oatmeal Cream Pie football cookies, they tasted good and looked cute! I quickly took this picture as we were running out the door-
Maddie enjoyed a good nap with her daddy-

Such a big girl!-
Gus enjoyed playing outside-

It was a rough week last week for him, lots of falls, still getting over this black eye- that's what is supposed to happen to little boys.... right???
