Around the Home

We haven't been doing anything too out of the ordinary the last week or two. With our three littles, it is just a lot of work to get through each day. I'm just going to put up some pictures to show what we've been up to.

I'm so ready for Fall weather and football! I made this wreath for our front porch.

Aren't these two so cute?!?!

Our garden! Yes, all the plants are big and growing out of it! But it is starting to not look quite as good. Mostly because we have some garden robbers..... (see pictures below)

Yes- our dogs eat the cucumbers out of our garden.....

Sweet sleeping baby

I've been trying to cook more- I love making bread!!

A big first- exploring the dishwasher!

Time to read...

More Exploring! He's everywhere now!

Life is just life at our house. Cooking, cleaning, playing, and loving watching these three grow.

Jack is 7 Months!

Jack is 7 months old today!

It's been a big month for him. He started moving around a crawling. He pulled up to standing.

He also tried several foods. I made him carrots and squash. He liked carrots the first time he tried it, but not the second. He was fussy, so his Daddy gave him some homemade bread crust to chew on. I'm not sure if he'll like baby food again after that :) He didn't like the squash but ate more bread..... We may have a problem :)

 He weighed 18 lbs a week ago! He's a growing boy :)

He is still a happy boy. He loves his brother and sister.

I had a helper with the photography

I love this boy so much. He brings lots of joy to our house, and we can't imagine life without him.

The Mountains

I feel like every time I post it is about yet another trip! We have been going a lot this summer. This last trip we took was just for rest and relaxation. And it was perfect :)

We rented a cabin that was quite isolated near Angel Fire, New Mexico. It would take us about 15 minutes to drive to Angel Fire, which isn't a big place. The cabin was on several acres of land which included to ponds. It was in a little valley with just beautiful views. Two mornings we enjoyed watching a big herd of elk out in the meadow- one of the mornings that were running which was quite a site! We also were able to hear coyotes howling in the evenings which was such fun.

The cabin was two bedrooms, one bathroom (had a shower and a tub), and a beautiful big open kitchen/living area with an iron stove and amazing views.

Our goal for the trip was to have no schedule. One of my favorite things was having no cell service in the cabin. This meant I didn't wake up in the morning and check my phone, or hear email or text messages coming. I really needed the "detox!"

In the morning the kids would watch Mary Poppins- which we won't be watching again for a while because it was played SOOOO many times :) Maddie especially loves it.
Jack had a play area, and began to crawl even more while we were there. He also pulled up to stand on one of this toys!!! It was the same toy that Gus and Maddie stood up on which is fun.
Little boy's paradise

Josh and Gus fished many times at the ponds near the cabin and also went on a hike.

My sweet girl :)

One day we drove over to Red River, NM. Since I was little, I've loved riding go-karts there, and so I got to give Gus his first ride. He wasn't quite sure what to think, but as we walked away he said, "That was fun."
The kids enjoyed throwing rocks in the stream. This is one of my favorite pictures.

Gus and Maddie rode the horse outside the little grocery store.
Then Gus pushed the little cart I always loved too.

We drove over to Taos, NM twice to enjoy some amazing Mexican food. We also did a little shopping.

We are so thankful for a time to relax, read, and recharge as a family.

Family Time and a Break

I can't seem to keep up lately with blogging! I decided I better just do a quick post today so I don't get any further behind!

We have had a very busy last couple of weeks. We did have a couple of weeks where we home quite a bit in July. The kids and I stayed entertained by the caterpillars in our garden as well as the vegetables we have been harvesting! I have made pickles twice, and they turned out so good! I was shocked! It wasn't difficult at all.We have had several tomatoes, green chilies, jalapenos, and just yesterday our first carrots!

One day we needed to get out of the house so I took the kids to the zoo. We all enjoyed the outing.

Jack rode for the first time in a shopping cart- he's getting so big.

He also had his first walk in the wagon.

The kids are so fun and growing so much, but they are a HANDFUL! Taking care of these three littles has been the hardest thing I've ever done- mostly because it is so FULL time!
My grandparents celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary in July, so we drove down to my parents for a party to celebrate them. They have provided such a wonderful example to all of our family on how to love. They are both so precious to me- it was fun to celebrate with them. We were able to spend time with my aunt, uncle, cousins and cousins--in-law (is there such a thing?). We took some fun family pictures that I will enjoy sharing in the future!

While we were at my parent's, we were able to meet up with Josh's old roommate and his family. We enjoyed catching up with them.

We also were able to go out to dinner with my sister and her husband and just Jack. We really enjoyed our date night! We went to a sushi place and had several kinds of sushi which was a first for me. I liked nearly everything I tasted!

When we came back home, my mom came with us. And for three days she kept the kids while I worked at the pharmacy. The pharmacist Josh works with was going to be out of town, and my mom was able to come so it was a good chance for me to work a little. I have to say it was a good break for me. I had not been away from the kids that long since Jack had been born. Although it was a nice break and I enjoyed being with Josh all day at work, I was ready to be back at home and the kids were too.  We all need a little break or change every once in a while, and I very much needed this one. Thank you mom for being brave enough to take care of the 3 littles! :)
