The Last Part of our Roadtrip Adventure

I'm going to finally wrap up writing about our trip today.

We didn't have too far to drive the day we left Josh's grandpa's house, about 7 hours. And we left early in the morning too to help. But we were all exhausted at this point! The last two hours in the car, Maddie just screamed. She didn't need anything, she just wanted out of her seat. And then for the last 30 minutes of the trip, Gus was having a breakdown. In my head I was too :) Josh and I wished there was some magic way we didn't have to drive the 19 more hours to get home!

Our stop was in Nashville. We had decided to do something special on this night, so we stayed at the Gaylord Opryland Hotel. We were all  sooooo ready to get out of the car when we got there. We headed to our room and just let Maddie crawl around for a bit and stretch her legs. Then we loaded up the stroller and started walking around and exploring the hotel. It is a beautiful place with all the waterfalls and greenery.

We were all tired though, and after a while we headed back to the room. We thought Maddie would nap, but she wasn't interested. We started getting hungry so loaded up the stroller again and found a place to eat. When we got to a restaurant, thankfully Maddie had fallen asleep. Those 20 minutes of her asleep was a wonderful gift, haha! When our food arrived, she woke up, so I started eating quickly, giving food to Gus and to Maddie to keep everyone happy. After about 10 minutes, food was no longer keeping the down the crying, so I left with the kids and Josh joined me shortly. We stopped and got some gelato- very yummy! Gus liked it too. We had planned to take the kids swimming, but they were so tired we just put them to bed when we got to the room. We went to bed fairly early too.

We woke up at 5:30 the next morning, got ready and headed back on the road. This was going to be a long day of driving. We stopped for lunch and everyone got out for a few minutes.

We finally got to our hotel and then went to dinner. We had a nice dinner:
I haven't been good about taking belly shots this pregnancy, but here's one I got at the hotel-
25 Weeks :
Then took the kids for another swim:
We got up early again the next morning and hit the road. Our trip wasn't long today- our last day! So happy to see this!!

We arrived in the town where we boarded our dogs at around 11:30. We went to eat at one of my favorite places:
As we sat there, Josh and I were finally able to relax- we were "home" or at least close enough!! We made a few shopping stops and then picked up our dogs. We then made the final hour and a half drive home. It was good to be home. Everyone was happy, and everyone was exhausted. One of the nicest things is coming home to a clean house. I try really hard to have the house clean when we leave so it is nice when we get home.

And that was our Roadtrip adventure :) The goal of the trip was to see Josh's grandpa, and for him to be able to meet Gus and Maddie. We had a nice visit and were able to do that- so it was a successful trip!
